Art is the highest form of play (according to me). I’ve actually said this in some of my workshops, when I can remember to between the booze and cracking the whip on the hapless participants.

Here’s someone who has figured that out - this is the “Where the hell is Matt” viral video from YouTube. This obviously is more in the category of performance art - but it is still wonderful, creative play.

So. Are you playing enough?

OMG - I am still smiling. Made my day - play, create, play, create

    Thanks, Julie, Suzanne

I watched this about 5 times - then went back and watched it several more - it is just a lot of fun! 14 months to make something that lift one’s spirits in just a few minutes!

WOW! I am definitely sharing this one. I know an artist gal who hunts and travels all over the world combining play and her work.

Ain’t it fun?? I’ve watched it multiple times myself - art as play, play as art…I think it was Warren Beatty who said “Success is when you don’t know whether you’re working or playing.”

I just watched it Julie…and posted it on Facebook to share…wow….I am jealous of all the countries that Matt got to visit…and secondly I thought “There is no way that I would dance, even silly, in front of anyone”. How uptight am I?? I used to have so much fun…I really do think that everything is weighing down on me and I desperatly DO need to bring fun back into my life.

Lori - if that’s true, then I hope it’s good to be watching Matt. I remember reading not long ago that the Lakota have a saying about how, right after you die, you think “…why did I take it all so seriously??”. (I could be mangling the who and the what, but the gist stuck with me because it seemed so apropos).
