I would love to do your workshop again. The Triple D crew are top of the line. Julie works us hard and is honest in her critiques. The animals are breath taking. Time spent after the work of the day is special, too when we get together to learn from one another. I love keeping in touch with others from the past and hearing about their painting successes. I am checking on finances to see about the 2009 workshop. Besides all of this, we are so close to great National Parks!

Janice - thank you for the kind comments and report! This was our first winter workshop and I really enjoyed it. It IS more relaxed, since we don't get up as early - gotta wait for the light to do our shoots. And keep in mind that in Montana, "it's a dry cold", meaning that without wet heavy air we don't feel as cold.

I've changed my summer workshop dates to fall at the end of June this year and next; while it increases our chances of rain during the workshop, our temps should be cooler than during the late July workshops of prior years. We do, however, have to get up early!

I have been to three of Julie's workshops at the Triple D - summers of 2006 & 07 and the past one in February. If you have never been to Triple D - GO!!! Personally, I would urge you to consider the winter shoot. It is often colder on the East Coast than in Montana. Our daily temps were 20-40 with fresh snow on the trees to produce gorgeous backgrounds. The animals are fantastic no matter when you go ....but, there is nothing more gorgeous than a Siberian tiger in winter coat in the snow. Well, maybe the red fox in winter coat....then there's the Canadian Lynx....bobcat....mountain lions....artic foxes....artic wolf....timber wolves....and (very, very special) the snow leopards! The animals are playful and frisky in the brisk morning air - lots of play and action in addition to beautiful posed shots. In the summer, it gets hot and the animals get heated quickly. Plus, in the winter we get to sleep in - leaving for shoots at 8:15 - 8:30 a.m. instead of 6:00 a.m. The WORKshop part is fantastic. Very small groups - lots of personal tips - plently of opportunity to test and work on your skills. Does it get any better than this?

"We may also have the option of doing a horse shoot on one of the workshop days, depending on student interest."

What's this talk of shooting horses? Here I thought you were a horse lover.

How does triple D get way with that, anyway? Aren't there laws?
