All American
oil on canvas mounted on panel,
25 x 15

The flagbearers who open every rodeo are a treat to watch, with colorful horses, trappings, and flags flying. I saw this young girl on her Pony of the Americas appaloosa years ago in California, and have wanted to paint the image ever since - her face had a wonderful expression of peace and pride that I worked to try to capture. I'm very pleased with this piece.
